Palato is a Honduran company started by Chef Monica Pedemonte in 2007, upon completing her undergraduate degree in Communications and Business Administration and later on her culinary studies in Argentina.
At first Palato primarily provides catering services for private individual and corporate clients for special events. Offering high quality prepared foods, baked goods and pastries.
In 2016 she decides to formalize her business and focuses primarily on pastries, baked goods and chocolate, an activity Palato continues with great success. During this time it was really hard to find good quality chocolate, made in Honduras.
This inspired her to work with Honduran cacao beans, indigenous to the country and considered among the best in the world, to make her own chocolate to work with. This way she would not just have the chocolate she needed but helped cacao growers in her country and potentially put Honduran Chocolate in the world map, and so she joins the Bean to Bar Chocolate movement.
